THE LOVERS

With daggers drawn over the night
The covers betray the light
Sands enmeshed in crazy delight
The moonlight dances mildly in its might

Life will always be nothing without you
The splinters jingles the cover of memories
Jungles grew on the peace of vengeful sobriety
The cages of freedom is treated with disdainful levity

Soon the intrigues of betrayal pulled the covers
The tears and smile of the jilted lover
Fades the night and mocks the distance in faded stanzas
May we be the children of our fathers

The silence is scarier than the distance
When help looks the other way n a stance
The treachery of the languid night
Fools them all on the quilt they prepared in an instance
